They've Got What it Takes: Sainted Nuns

Ever Wonder What it Takes to Be One of the Few, the Proud, the Canonized Elite of the Catholic Church?

In some cases, absolutely nothing!

Fictitious saints of the catholic church abound: the only saintly pre-requisite is to have been a "christianized" pagan deity or a mythical/mythologized figure, such as St. Lucy, chosen to propagandize various embodyments of piety.

As for those cases where real people involved, such as in the case of St. Bernadette of Lourdes, the process of canonization is a lengthy, questionable process, one that is again borrowed from ancient antecedents.
