The smile you wear
a false front of disguise
the words you speak only hollow
it burns you still so deep inside
Time has a way of eroding a memory
As you move through the world
but you know the truth
The story behind each bandage, and lie
A time when you felt so low
If only they could see
They've been blindfolded
by lies you say to protect them
If I could cross the great ocean
Between the island of myself,
and the world that goes without me
bring me back, and pull me up
Take this monster from me
